Landhuis Hommelhove is located within walking distance of the pleasant city of Poperinge, best known as the "Capital of the good life", 7 km from the Belgian-French border. This quiet region in the Westhoek is a beautiful rural area with many sights and activities such as the many cycling routes in Poperinge region and mountain bike routes in Heuvelland. There are plenty of opportunities for walkers in the Galgebos, the Palingbeek and the Helleketelbos. Trips to art cities such as Bruges, Lille and Saint-Omer in French Flanders are a welcome change. For children, there are trips to Bellewaerde in Ypres and Plopsaland in De Panne. The wide beaches of De Panne are only half an hour by car.

Landhuis Hommelhove is ideally located as a base for the commemoration of World War I. Lyssenthoek Military Cemetery, execution site and death row, Talbot House, ... Impressive witnesses of more than 4 years of war violence. Poperinge has a great history, witness of this is the religious heritage. Great Poperinge has 9 monumental churches that take us back to the 13th century.
